I'm in the mood to read stories (novels or collections of shorts) about Martian colonization/the early years on mars, the grittier the better. I've read the KSR Mars trilogy (which my wife refers to as the Polychromatic Mars Trilogy) So we can leave that aside, along with Martian Chronicles. The planet Mars has been a subject of wonder for millennia, as attested by its place in mythology, by later speculation about its canals, and by the scientific and public excitement over the Viking mission. Although the scientific literature about the planet is voluminous, no comprehensive treatment of the results of modern spacecraft exploration has yet been made available.

The Martian Paperback | Kindle Written by Andy Weir Broadway Books Publication Date: Febru Cover Price: $ Let’s get the opinion stuff out of the way: The Martian, the book.   Like Petranek's TED talk of the same name, his book "How We'll Live on Mars" (Simon & Schuster, ) explores humankind's path so far to Mars, the industries needed to get there and thrive and.

Red Mars Some guy named Frank Chalmers isn't exactly happy with the current state of Martian society and decides he needs to take control of the situation. Using a festival for cover, he plans an elaborate assassination of a fellow political figure and First Hundred, John Boone.   The book tentatively envisaged a second space race, this time to Mars, and with the suggestion that the year would be the aim point in the way that was for Apollo. Logged "I don't care what anything was DESIGNED to do, I care about what it CAN do"- .
